FHASS Welcomes Dalia Hanna!
Dr. Dalia Hanna has over 25 years of experience in both business and academic settings. She comes to us from The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University in the role of Program Director for the Faculty of Community Services. In this role, she led programs in Community Health, Social Work, and Workplace Safety, including two part-time degrees in Nursing and Early Childhood Studies and 14 certificates for over 6 years. During this time, Dalia was also assigned to oversee community engagement programs for Programs for 50+, bridging programs for internationally educated professionals and transition foundation programs for 18 months. Her approach to community engagement focuses on prevalent concerns, including financial aid and post-graduation opportunities. Before that and for 10 years, Dalia led programs for the faculty development at Ryerson University. In this role, she managed and facilitated several workshops and programs in course management, best practices in teaching, hybrid and online learning and many more. Dalia presented research and published papers through national and international conferences in this capacity. Her research in higher education focus on using project management for student groups, teaching and learning in higher education and online and hybrid learning.
Dalia has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ryerson University, focusing on using drones to locate missing persons with dementia. This interdisciplinary research enabled her to work with search and rescue teams to support them during their search process by analyzing data from international reports on missing persons with dementia. She has M.Sc. in Instructional Design and Technology, specializing in Online Learning from Walden University, USA and B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications Engineering at Cairo University.
She holds several professional certifications. To name a few, she is a project management professional (PMP®), certified Procsi® Change Management Practitioner, a certified facilitator and trainer for the Instructional Skills Workshops. She is certified as an auditor for the ISO9000 quality standards and completed a Women in Leadership in education certificate from Harvard University.
As an instructor in professional communication, she teaches courses that cover topics on introduction to professional communication, interpersonal and intercultural communication in management and professional communications for the engineering profession.
