Message from the Dean

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Alchemy, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences newsletter. These are exciting times at Sheridan, and we in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences see ourselves as playing a vital role in the journey to become an undergraduate teaching university. A number of inspiring initiatives are underway in our Faculty, and the Alchemy newsletter, one such initiative, aims to showcase the talents of our faculty and staff, highlight student success, and capture the vibrant intellectual capacity and creative energy that flow through our work and activities, both inside and outside of the classroom. It is our hope that Alchemy will be generative in nature, not only spurring further engagement and activity, but also enhancing and enriching our discourse, our academic and creative culture, and our social connectivity. Alchemy is a mirror that reflects an important aspect of who we are as a Faculty, and it is a vehicle to share our achievements with each other and with the larger Sheridan community.
