by Prof. Tania Iveson

L-R: Associate Dean Stephanie Samboo, Dema Haddadin, and FHASS Dean Yael Katz

We are very proud and pleased to announce that Dema Haddadin, graduate of our first TESOL Plus (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) cohort received one of Sheridan’s four Work-Integrated-Learning (WIL) Student of the Year 2018 Awards. This award recognizes Dema’s efforts in her work-integrated learning teaching excellence in Sheridan’s Language Instruction to Newcomers to Canada (LINC) department. Dema proved herself to be an outstanding supportive team player, and showed admirable dedication, ability and enthusiasm in her planning, materials development and classroom teaching during her practicum placement.

As noted in the Sheridan Insider, “These students are prime examples of the many Sheridan students who put their learning to work every term,” says Matt Rempel, Associate Dean of Career Education and Co-Curricular Learning.

We couldn’t agree more and are very proud of Dema’s efforts and her excellence.

Dema was recognized at the WIL Award ceremony at Sheridan College on April 5.
