Chris Ambedkar Wins Design Educator Award of Excellence

Congratulations to Professor Chris Ambedkar, who has won the 2023 Design Educator Award of Excellence for Eastern Canada! The award, given by the Association of Registered Graphic Designers, celebrates outstanding contributions to student development and pedagogical research. Nominees were evaluated on several criteria, including contribution to the design community, contribution to pedagogy or practice, and curriculum development. Lauded by one colleague as, “the educator the world needs right now,” Ambedkar was recognized for the ways he pushes students to creatively solve real-life problems. “I share this achievement with every student I’ve had the privilege to teach,” says Ambedkar, “Especially those who discovered their voices in my classroom.”
