Student Spotlight: Creativity Infographics

Prof. Patsy Marshall, a part-time instructor with FHASS, would like to honour the creative infographics made by students in her Fall 2018 Creative Leadership course.

The old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words continues to hold true in the digital age.

Infographics are visual presentations that utilize the elements of design to display content in a manner that is thought-provoking, creative, entertaining, compact and easy to comprehend. Visual simplicity aids comprehension as people are wired to notice, remember, learn from, and respond emotionally to images. According to adult education literature, people remember only 10% of information three days after hearing it, on average; however, adding a picture can improve recall to 65%. Also, nearly two-thirds of individuals say they are visual learners.

The future of infographics is unlimited provided time is taken to make them beautiful and valuable as these Sheridan College students have achieved. Take a look!
