Jennifer Phenix’s Myth Students Illustrate Homeric Myth

Students in Jennifer’s Troy in Literature and Film breadth elective produce stunning artwork

Students in Jennifer Phenix’s Troy in Literature and Film course read Homer’s Iliad and discuss the concept of the Homeric hero. Their projects invite them to create a visual portrayal of either Achilles, the greatest Greek warrior, or Hector, the greatest Trojan warrior, as Homeric heroes. They then reflect on how their artwork illustrates the concept as discussed in class and as outlined in the poem and secondary literature.
