Paul Vermeersch wins OAC grant!

Alchemy congratulates Paul Vermeersch, Professor of Publishing, on his impressive recent grant from the Ontario Arts Council. The $12,000 Works in Progress grant has been awarded for the completion of Paul’s upcoming book of poetry, currently titled Self-Defence for the Brave and Happy. Scheduled to be published in Fall 2018 with ECW Press, the book will explore themes of evolution, devolution and mutation, both cultural and biological, and will feature poems about future dystopias and the occult, metapoetics, and atomic-age nursery rhymes.
