Jennifer Chambers at FOLD
FHASS professor Jennifer Chambers moderated the panel “Growing Pains” at the inaugural Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) in Brampton on May 7, 2016. This panel highlighted three Canadian writers in the beginning of their literary careers through a discussion of their recent works. In preparation for her discussion with the writers, Jennifer read Carrianne Leung’s novel The Wondrous Woo, Melanie Mah’s novel The Sweetest One, and Dalton Higgins’ biography Far From Over: The Music and Life of Drake. In conversation with the panelists, Jennifer asked about capturing the voice of youth culture, family ties that bind and limit vs. those that enliven and enrich, music as a theme, and humour. It was an interesting conversation at a great new festival. Congratulations, Jennifer!
