Successful Completion of Comprehensive Exams for Claire Meldrum

Congratulations to Ph.D. candidate Claire Meldrum who passed her Comprehensive Area Candidacy Exam in December 2014. Claire is currently pursuing her doctorate in English Literature at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her dissertation, Victorian Material Culture and Domestic Ideology in the Detective Fiction of Anna Katharine Green, will investigate how Green — one of the most influential mystery authors of the nineteenth century — used the detective genre to put forward a unique perspective about domesticity and gender roles.

Claire has taught film, literature and media at Sheridan since 2010.
