CTL Spring & Summer Series

The Faculty Development Team in the Centre for Teaching & Learning invites faculty to attend the Second Annual Spring & Summer Series, a series of workshops developed and delivered for faculty, by faculty.

This year the Spring & Summer Series will be offered on Mondays through May/June and July/August and is an opportunity for faculty to share their knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

The Workshop series is focused around 4 Central Themes:

  1. The Technology in Teaching: More than a mere demonstration of technology, these sessions are intended to look at the value behind adding technology, the reasons faculty use it and how it has supported teaching practices.
  1. Dynamic Teaching and Learning: This broad theme highlights the exciting and dynamic strategies faculty members have used in their classrooms, including projects, assessment strategies, simulations, experiential learning and other unique practices that enhance the classroom experience.
  1. My Teaching; My Practice: This theme is focused on engaging in a reflective practice, to explore who we are as teachers and learners.
  1. Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: This theme invites those faculty engaged in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to share their experiences and lessons learned. SOTL is the practice of doing research in your classroom, about your classroom and can include work you have done in regards to curriculum modifications, assessment and evaluation changes and/or alterations in your pedagogy and teaching and learning strategies.

Please keep an eye out for a schedule of workshop dates and topics which will be released later this Spring and posted in the Sheridan Insider.
